Learn more about dōTERRA Palmarosa Essential Oil, From Sandy

Description

Palmarosa essential oil is steam distilled from the Palmarosa plant. Aromatically, Palmarosa has a fresh, floral notes of geranium and rose scent.
Palmarosa essential oil
has a bright and cleansing aroma that smells slightly sweet and floral. Though its name, Palmarosa, makes it sound like it might be a tree or a rose plant, Palmarosa essential oil actually comes from a grass that is dried then steam distilled to create this fresh, clear to pale yellow essential oil. As a grass that can grow almost 10 feet tall, and with its bright, shining aroma, it’s no wonder the plant requires abundant sunshine to grow. Palmarosa essential oil contains a high percentage of geraniol, which is one of the same primary aroma constituents in Rose essential oil. One of nature’s skin rejuvenators, Palmarosa often finds a place in skin care routines.

Sourcing Information

One of the main reasons I chose dōTERRA is because of where and how they source their essential oils. dōTERRA believes that plants produce the best chemical properties when they are grown and harvested in their native habitat.
dōTERRA sources Palmarosa from Nepal. Each batch of essential oils goes through the following battery of tests to ensure that they are pure, potent, effective oils worthy of the dōTERRA name:
  • Organoleptic testing
  • Microbial testing
  • Gas chromatography
  • Mass spectrometry
  • Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy (FTIR)
  • Chirality testing
  • Isotopic analysis
  • Heavy metal testing
You can access the GC/MS reports of each batch of dōTERRA essential oils. These tests are done by an independent third party lab. Your unique Quality ID is located on the bottom of your bottle. Enter that ID at sourcetoyou.com to access the reports.
